A Grand Celebration

Over a Decade in the Making

December 30, 2023, marked the grand opening of Timbertown Quad and new terrain located at South Peak.

More than 400 people gathered to celebrate this major milestone.

Rope Drop

The celebration kicked off at 9:00am with Ski Patrol dropping the ropes on four new trails: Stillwater, Fox Run, Jack Pot and Blazer. Skiers and riders of all ages gathered sampled the corduroy on the first new trails in over a decade.

The trails led skiers to the base of the new Timbertown Quad where a party was already underway full of music, giveaways and high-fives from Flynn the Flying Fox. Kids and coaches from the Seasonal Programs filled the lift corral to help usher in the new lift and terrain.

This new area of the resort has been designed to improve the experience for guests learning how to ski or snowboard and increases the resort’s beginner terrain by 50%.

Let's Ride

At 9:30am, the ribbon-cutting ceremony commenced led by Brian Norton, Loon’s president & general manager. Timbertown Quad is Loon’s third lift installation in as many years and marks another pivotal moment in the resort’s 10-year capital improvement plan, Flight Path: 2030.

After the ribbon was cut, the lift fired up, and kids, coaches, families got their first ride in Timbertown.
