Loon Opens with 11 Trails, Backed by State’s Largest Snowmaking Investment

Loon Announces Opening Day with 2,100 Vertical Feet of Skiing

Loon is kicking off its 59th winter season Tuesday, December 3with 58 acres of top-to-bottom terrain, powered by the most advanced snowmaking system in New Hampshire.

The White Mountain Express Gondola, and North Peak Express Quad will begin spinning at 10:00amTuesday giving access to 11 trails across two peaks.

This year, Loon has made the largest snowmaking investment in the state, underscoring its commitment to delivering the best possible snow conditions, particularly in the early season.

Loon installed over 100 new semi-automated snowmaking hydrants across all three peaks, including key trails, Haulback and Bear Claw Extension—which are slated to open Tuesday.

Behind the scenes, Loon has replaced and upgraded the Old River Pumphouse water intake system, which has significantly boosted the resort's snowmaking capacity— ensuring even greater snow production.
