Loon Earns Two NSAA Sustainable Slopes Badges
Forever Project Badges
We are happy to announce that Loon has enrolled in National Ski Areas Association’s (NSAA) Climate Challenge. The Climate Challenge is designed to help guide resorts in climate reform within their internal operations and engage in public climate advocacy. This program requires resorts to complete a climate inventory of their resort operations, set a target for greenhouse gas reduction, implement an annual project to work towards their reduction goal, and engage in at least four actions/acts of climate advocacy annually.
By being enrolled in this program, Loon has fulfilled the requirements for section CC1 of the Climate Change Action and Climate Advocacy badges. For completing this sustainable action, NSAA awarded Loon two Sustainable Slopes badges. Loon has also been an active participant and endorser of NSAA’s Sustainable Slopes program, which helps ski resorts adopt more sustainable practices in their daily operations.

NSAA also provides other benefits for enrolling in the Climate Challenge. Loon will receive formal training from the Brendle Group, recognition on NSAA’s multiple platforms, and other tools that will help guide Loon towards completing the goal of carbon neutrality by 2030.
Earning the Climate Action and Climate Advocacy badges are steps in pursuing Loon’s sustainability goals. There are many more steps to take, but Loon recognizes the importance of each step of this journey.
