FAQ

  1. Is this ride doable? Do I have to be in Tour de France shape?
The Franconia Notch Bike Ride is a moderately challenging, 16-mile journey. The first half of the ride follows the Franconia Notch Bike Path, which travels mostly downhill with several short climbs. The second half of the route follows roads back into downtown Lincoln, where riders can follow a paved bike path the final mile back to Loon. Over 16 miles, the ride descends 1,562 feet and ascends 915 feet.

  2. How long does it take?
Most people will finish the ride in approximately 90 minutes, but we recommend that you allow ample time to stop and enjoy the scenery along the way.

  3. What if I get hungry? Are there places to eat along the way?
Food options in Franconia Notch are limited. For an extra $5, you can purchase an Energy Snack, a grab-&-go snack pack stocked with an organic energy bar, fruit and a bottle of water.

  4. I don’t have a bike. Can I rent one?
Absolutely! We have a rental fleet of Giant bikes or rent.

  5. Can my kids join me?
They sure can. Rent a bike trailer for an extra $15 so the little ones can ride along in style.

Cross-Country Trails

Made up of historic logging roads, our cross-country trails hug the Pemigewasset River and ascend the shoulder of nearby Black Mountain. They're best suited for intermediate and advanced riders, but they're also great for trail runners and hikers.

To reach the trailhead, depart the Adventure Center and travel east toward the Mountain Club on Loon hotel. Bear left at the fork in the road and follow Black Mountain Road to Landing Rd. for approximately one mile.

Lincoln Loop

Follow the Pemigewasset River along this paved, family-friendly bike path. Bike the two miles to downtown Lincoln to explore local shops and restaurants. To reach the path, cross the bridge at the resort’s main entrance and take a left at the train. You can’t miss it. For an added boost, rent an e-Bike - it will make the return trip a breeze!
