Step 2: When You Arrive at Loon Mountain

When You Get to Loon

You're finally here! Follow these easy steps and you'll be on the mountain in no time:

1. Park Your Vehicle

Take a page from the locals' playbook and get here early. The snow is better in the mornings, lift lines are shorter, and you'll find a better parking space. More rental gear is available in the mornings, too.

During the winter, Loon's hours of operations are 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. On weekends and holidays, lifts run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.  Ticket windows open a half hour before the lifts.

By arriving at Loon before the lifts open, you'll find a parking space closer to one of the main lodges. Loon has three distinct base lodges:

Octagon Base Lodge (east base area), Turn left after crossing Loon's access bridge, located 2.7 miles off Exit 32 on Interstate 93. This is your base camp for these lifts and amenities:

Lifts:

  • White Mountain Express Gondola
  • Seven Brothers Triple
  • Little Sister Double

Food & Beverage:

  • Octagon Lodge cafeteria
  • Paul Bunyan Room bar
  • Slopeside Deli

Other Services:

  • Loon Mountain Sports retail shop
  • Loon Mountain Adventure Center (ice skating, xc skiing, snowshoe tours)
  • First Aid

Governor Adams Base Lodge
(west base area) - Instead of turning left at Loon's main access bridge, turn right. Here you'll find:

Lifts:

  • Kancamagus Express Quad
  • Kissin' Cousin Double
  • Sarsaparilla Carpet

Food & Beverage:

    • Governor Adams Lodge cafeteria
    • Babe’s Blue Ox Lounge
    • Governor’s Pavilion

Other Services:

  • Children’s Center (children’s ski & snowboard lessons and daycare)
  • Mountainside Rental Shop
  • New England Disabled Sports

South Peak
- Accessed by Cooper Memorial Drive in downtown Lincoln, less than 1 mile off Exit 32 on Interstate 93. While South Peak does not have a rental shop or fully-developed base area, it's the place to go during busy weekends if you have your own gear and want to get up the mountain quickly.  Guests can purchase lift tickets here, as well as breakfast and lunch. To reach the main mountain, ride the Lincoln Express Quad to the Tote Road Quad at the summit of South Peak.

If you can't find a parking spot close to a lodge, feel free to unload your gear at our 5-minute turnaround areas in front of the Octagon and Governor Adams lodges. These areas are for drop off/pickup only, so please don't park there long-term. Vehicles left unattended will be towed!
