For immediate release

LINCOLN, NH (May 1, 2017) -
Fresh off the snowiest winter in a decade, Loon Mountain Resort will open for summer adventures Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday, May 27 to Monday, May 29). The resort will be open weekends only through June 16, with daily operations beginning Saturday, June 17.

Summer and Fall Adventures & Activities

This summer, Loon will offer a full range of fun activities for visitors of all ages. Families will love riding New Hampshire's longest scenic Gondola Skyride to the summit of Loon Peak, where high-altitude adventure awaits. Summit visitors can climb an observation tower to enjoy spectacular views of the White Mountains; have lunch at the Summit Café; take a self-guided nature walk, or explore a maze of cool summit glacial caves.

At the base of the mountain, those looking for fast-paced adventure can zipline across the roaring Pemigewasset River, scale an outdoor climbing wall, or rent a mountain bike to explore area paths and trails. New this year: e-Bikes, electric-assisted bikes, will be added to the resort's fleet. Young adventure-seekers will flip out over bungee trampolines, a 30-foot-tall Spider Web, and Bunyan's Bouncin' Backyard, a kid-friendly setup featuring a bounce house and inflatable games. There's also the LogJam Maze, where groups can work together to negotiate twists, turns, and dead-ends as they race against the clock. After working up an appetite, adventure-seekers can grab lunch at The Whistle Stop café or cool off with an ice cream cone at the Adventure Center Snack Bar.

Aerial Forest Adventure Park
Located high in the alpine forest, the Aerial Forest Adventure Park offers a truly unique challenge. The park consists of five ropes courses of varying levels of difficulty - a perfect mix for groups and families with kids ages seven and older. Participants are challenged to maneuver through the trees by climbing ladders, crossing rope bridges, and negotiating other obstacles. A day in the park is a great team-building activity for groups, and serves as a wonderful bonding opportunity for families.

One Pass for All-Day Adventure
The Adventure Pass and Super Adventure Pass are great ways for families to save on an entire day at Loon this summer. The Adventure Pass, at $45 for adults and $35 for juniors, provides a day of unlimited access to the Gondola Skyride, climbing wall, and bungee trampoline - plus a two-hour bike rental, round-trip zipline, and entry to the LogJam Maze. The junior Adventure Pass also includes use of the Spider Web and Bunyan's Bouncin' Backyard. The Super Adventure Pass - at $74 for adults and $64 for juniors - offers all of those activities, plus a two-hour session in the Aerial Forest Adventure Park.

Summer & Fall Events

Loon Mountain will host a number of exciting events this summer and fall, including:

June 23-25 | New England Brewfest

Beer aficionados, industry professionals and other beer lovers will savor brand-new brews and drink in the one-of-a-kind sights of Loon Mountain.

July 2 | Loon Mountain Race
Named the "Most Competitive Hillclimb" by Runner's World Magazine, this ridiculously tough race has runners climb 2,100 vertical feet in less than six miles. The last kilometer of the course climbs straight up a black diamond ski trail, Upper Walking Boss, providing one of the toughest, most awe-inspiring finishes in the fast-growing sport of mountain running.

July 16, Aug. 6, Aug. 27 | Touch-A-Truck
Perfect for that truck-obsessed kid (or kid-at-heart), Touch-a-Truck is a daylong celebration of diesel-powered awesomeness. Get up close and personal with snow cats, backhoes, telehandlers, and a whole bunch of other serious machines that keep Loon running through all four seasons.

Sept. 15-17 | New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival
One of the largest Scottish festivals in the country, the 42nd Annual New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival features top Scottish bands, classic Highlander cuisine, Scottish heavy athletics, and dozens of other unique cultural attractions. Visit NHScot.org for details and to buy tickets.

October 7-8 | White Mountain Oktoberfest
Get a taste of the Bavarian Alps at Loon Mountain during White Mountain Oktoberfest, the region's largest celebration of German food, drink, and music. Presented by Samuel Adams, this two-day festival perfectly coincides with fall foliage season, so revelers will enjoy beer and brats alongside stunning views of New Hampshire's White Mountains. An Oompah band will provide the soundtrack to the weekend's activities, which will include a stein-hoisting contest and keg toss for adults - plus a root beer keg toss, water balloon launching, and pumpkin painting for kids.
