Insider's Guide to Loon

Here are a few choice tips to help you maximize your slope time and minimize your time off the snow:

Buy your lift tickets all at once "multi-day" to save money.

Reserve lift tickets, lessons and rentals in advance even if you're coming only for one day. Call 1-800-229-LOON.

Arrive early. Loon's lifts open at 8:00 a.m.weekends / holidays during prime season and 9:00 a.m. the rest of the time. Mountainside Rentals and our lift ticket offices open one-half hour before the lifts open.

Listen to FM station 91.9 when you get off I-93 at Exit 32 to find out the day's happenings at Loon. Also watch LMTV 22 for daily Loon news.

Once you arrive, head to the upper mountain first then head west to the Kanc quad midmorning. Eat lunch early or late to avoid the 11:00 to 1:00 lunch crunch and ski the upper mountain again while other guests are eating. Also, Camp III at the base of the North Peak lift is great for lunch with homemade specials daily and outdoor BBQs in pleasant weather.

Ski or ride midweek when you can. If you've only been here on weekends, you'll find it quite a treat.

Free Ski Check! Available weekends and holidays. You can store your skis and boards overnight, FREE! Complimentary ski check building is located slopeside near the gondola.
