  • Loon's Peak Seekers Beginner Ski and Snowboard Package for only $99, adds great value to your New Hampshire winter ski vacation
  • Complete information is available on Loon Mountain's website at http://www.loonmtn.com/info/winter/take3.asp

Lincoln, NH: A "first" is a memorable moment — a baby’s first steps, a first car, a first apartment or house. Loon Mountain, New England's premier winter ski destination, makes sure the "first time on skis" is just as memorable. The resort's new Peak Seekers program keeps learning to ski or snowboard a fun experience. With innovative teaching styles and state-of–the-art ski and snowboard equipment, the Loon Mountain Snowsports School guarantees to have any beginner feeling comfortable on all green-circle terrain at Loon . After a beginner completes three Peak Seekers days, he or she will receive a complimentary Loon Mountain Season Pass good for the rest of the winter.

Peak Seekers program open a new world to first-time skiers and snowboarders

No pre-registration is necessary for Loon's new Peak Seekers beginner ski and snowboard program. Peak Seekers is available daily and guests can sign up at the Mountainside Rental Shop. Peak Seeker lessons start at 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM at the base of the Sarsaparilla Handle Tow. The handle tow is located outside the Mountainside Rental Shop at the Governor's Lodge at Loon Mountain. The program costs $99 and includes:
  • Two-hour lesson
  • All-day, restricted beginner lift ticket
  • Full-day rental equipment

"We are constantly working to make the first-time process as easy as possible."
For those who take a morning ski or snowboard lesson and want to continue in the afternoon, Loon Mountain offers an afternoon lesson add-on for $25. This can be purchased at any Snowsports Desk or Mountainside Rentals before the 1:30 PM afternoon lesson start time on the same day.

Once a guest is able to ski the lower mountain trails and feels confident to ski from the summit, he or she can sign up for Loon Mountain's Peak Achievers program. The registration for Peak Achievers is the same as Peak Seekers. The program is available daily and guests can sign up at the Mountainside Rental Shop. The Peak Achievers lessons start at 10 AM and 1:30 PM at the base of the Sarsaparilla Handle Tow outside the Mountainside Rental Shop at the Governor’s Lodge. A Peak Achiever receives:
  • Two-hour lesson
  • All-day, full-mountain lift ticket
  • All-day rental equipment
Achievers are grouped by ability and, like the Peak Seekers, an afternoon lesson add-on is available for $25.

Both Peak Seekers and Peak Achievers are available for those ages 13 and over. Loon Mountain offers specialty kids programs for children ages 3-12 years.

Before a first-time skier or snowboarder even sets their feet on the slopes, they can download Loon's "I-Slide Guide" from loonmtn.com. The Guide offers tips to those just starting out, plus insight and information long-time winter sports enthusiasts have already learned. For example: (1) dress in layers to stay warm and comfortable; or (2) even though it's winter you can still get a sunburn, so don't forget the sunscreen. "We are constantly working to make the first-time process as easy as possible," said Snowsports Director, Booie Alward. "It's this group of individuals who will sustain and keep our sport alive."
