This means that first time snowboarders have access to the latest Burton boards, equipment, and methods of learning snowboarding faster and easier.
New for 06-07: Customized Private Lessons
For those guests who are looking for the ultimate Loon experience, a private lesson is the best option. Not only are guests able to personalize lesson times and choose their coach, but also private lessons come with the VIP treatment such as express lift line privileges and special offers exclusive to private lesson guests. A 3-hour private lesson is ultimate Loon experience because coaches have time to introduce new techniques, work with guests and guide them to perfection on a variety of terrain. Privates are available for up to five people, which means friends and family members now have an option to take a lesson together. A group may also choose to split their lesson whereby part of the group works on moguls for the first half and then the others receive coaching in the glades for the second half of the lesson. Private lessons can be reserved in advance or at the mountain any day.
Take 3, Ski or Ride Free
For first time skiers and riders, "Take 3, Ski or Ride Free," is a three-day learning program that has the flexibility of allowing guests to take each day of lessons at their leisure. Once a beginner has completed the three-day program, he or she will receive a free Loon Mountain Season Pass for the remainder of the season. Each lesson for beginners includes equipment from Dynastar skis or Burton snowboards, a beginner lift ticket and up to two-and-a-half hours of instruction. Take 3, Ski or Ride Free is offered daily and is available at Mountainside Rentals.
Camp Wildwoods at the Loon Mountain Children's Center
The Loon Mountain Children's Center encourages kids to discover a new adventure both on and off the slopes. Kids will explore Discovery Zones that depict stories about the history of logging in the Lincoln area, the surrounding White Mountain National Forest, and forest animals found at Loon Mountain. Groups are carefully designed for beginners to intermediate skiers and riders and are formed daily by ability. Child-specific PSIA / BASI trained coaches focus on having lots of safe, fun, games while learning vital skills on the mountain.
The Children's Center is located next to Mountainside Rentals. All camps provide the option of full or half-day lessons, although half-day lessons may not be available on weekends and holidays. Lessons, lift ticket, hot chocolate breaks and snacks are provided for kids and full day participants receive lunch.

Women's Droppin' In Weekend
The Women's Droppin' In Weekend takes a new twist this year to really involve participants in every aspect of the Terrain Park, from techniques of hitting specific features to park building. The two-day clinic includes the Mountain Club on Loon Mountain's four-star accommodations, pipe, park and freeriding skill building, equipment tuning instruction, terrain park feature building, plus a behind-the-scenes look at building Loon's award-winning parks and superpipe. The Droppin' In Weekend takes place February 10 - 11, and girls can register by contacting Luke Shelley at lshelley.lm@boothcreek.com, 603-745-6281 x5695 or Katie Ross at kross.lm@boothcreek.com, 603-745-6281 x5516.
Progression Freestyle Camp
Skiers and riders who are interested in gaining the necessary skills to successfully flow through a terrain park can enter into Loon's Progression Freestyle Camp. During these camps, guests learn the skills necessary to tackle the elements in the terrain parks such as basic jumping, landing, safety and tricks. Loon Mountain and Burton Snowboards teamed up last season to create an entry-level park experience that was the first of its kind on the East Coast. The Burton Progression Park is designed especially for instruction where each basic element has a "chill zone" or rest area where instructors and students can regroup and discuss approach, execution and landing. Features include rails, fun boxes and gently-rolling snow features that allow skiers and riders to get the feeling of "air" for the first time. Camps run every Saturday from January through the end of March, and are open to skiers and riders seven years and older. Camps run from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and lunch is included. Registration can be done through Central Reservations at 603-745-8111 or by contacting the Snowsports Department at 603-745-6281 x5695.
Mid-Day-Café
Mid-Day-Café is an option for experienced skiers and riders who want to take advantage of the best time to ski or ride - when everyone else is having lunch. Mid-Day-Café is a lunchtime exploration of the more challenging areas of the mountain and allows participants to improve their skills in bumps, trees and steeps. This program is offered daily throughout the season, from noon to 1 p.m.
Adult and Kid Season-Long Programs
Guests that are looking for a long term commitment to the snow over a season can enroll in Adult or Kid Season Long Programs. These camps are designed specifically with the intent to interact adults or kids with others around the same age, ability level and possibly even interests.
Groups are formed daily in accordance to participant skill development and skiing or riding intensity. Adults and kids can either enter into an unlimited or limited season long program, but all will enjoy express lift access, discounts at the J.E. Henry Tuning Center, special clinics, exclusive equipment testing events and après ski events. Pricing, schedules and additional info can be found at loonmtn.com.
