Ski for MS

Saturday, February 3, 2018

SKI for MS, a day-long community fundraising event benefitting people with multiple sclerosis, will hit the slopes of Loon Mountain on February 3, 2018. One of nine stops in a nationwide event series, the Loon event benefits Can Do MS, a national nonprofit organization that delivers health education programs for families with MS. Programs focus on exercise, nutrition, symptom management, and the motivation to thrive in life.

SKI for MS features on-mountain and après activities for people of all ages and ability levels. Attendees who sign up to fundraise will receive a personal web page that they can customize with their own messages and photos to honor loved ones touched by MS and inspire others to support their participation.  Fundraisers are encouraged to create a team with their friends and family, raise $200 to earn VIP perks, and continue fundraising to win a variety of exciting prizes. About SKI for MS SKI for MS began when Can Do MS founder Jimmie Heuga organized the first Snow Express for MS in Alyeska, AK. Original participants included fellow world-class skiers Jean Claude Killy, Phil and Steve Mahre, Billy Kidd, Stein Eriksen, and Bernhard Russi, who together broke records when they skied one million vertical feet in 24 hours. This event raised the seed money needed to start Can Do MS and it continues to be an important fundraiser for the organization.
